Murray State student awarded summer internship with Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute


David Crittendon, a graduate student in general experimental psychology at Murray State University, has been selected for a summer internship with the Office of Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program.


Crittendon will be interning at the Hope Research Center for Human Relations, which is part of the Research, Development and Strategic Initiatives Directorate at the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), located at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. The Institute works in direct relation with the Department of Defense (DOD) by advising the DOD and other organizations on equal opportunity issues and serving as a clearinghouse to monitor and disseminate research findings to interested agencies.


The Hope Research Center includes sophisticated simulation testing and development systems and mobile training and testing systems. For his internship, Crittendon will be working with Lt. Erica Harris, Ph.D., M.P.H. and Dr. Ben Farmer on research projects with applications to leadership and equal opportunity, such as the effects of mobile technology on training and education and the use of virtual reality to promote diversity management and training among senior leaders.
